CAMERAL SUMMER is a set of film workshops, demonstrations of young cinema and classics, lectures delivered by film professionals as well as numerous panel discussions and concerts. In a word: a huge dose of positive energy and a unique opportunity to experience the art of film.
During the lectures open to the public the invited representatives of the film and television industry, will be covering the various stages of the film work (from the preparation of the scenario, through the staging area to the process of film post-production). This is a unique opportunity to gain knowledge that is normally accessible only in film schools or industry panels and also be able to personally participate in discussions with professionals.
Apart from that, two groups of young people under the professional supervision will be creating short movie etudes, which will then be presented during the official closing ceremony of the event. The Polish youngsters recruited from across the country will find out, through experience, the process of creating films “from the inside”. This year’s workshop is unique as it’s to be carried out with the support of the Regional Police Headquarters.
An important element of the project is a film competition. Every year during the competition there are movies presented that was selected from hundreds of entries from all over the country, the best recent productions made by young independent filmmakers. This year, we introduce the Grand Prize: “Golden Archer?, which the young artists will compete for. Traditionally, jury will award nominations for the prestigious Jan Machulski’s Polish Independent Film Award.
In addition to the educational dimension of event there will also be entertainment parts such as concerts, film screenings with live music and Jet Film Competition HYDE PARK, which from the beginning of the Polish National Film Meetings have brought together his large, loyal audience.
