Study concept
The engineering degree programme in Information Technology is conducted in English and lasts three and a half year. Information Technology is a field of study that grows rapidly and dynamically creating new challenges and opportunities for progress. Most of the present occupations require the basic command of computer knowledge. One in four new workplaces in the EU (European Union) are created in the field of telecommunication, the Internet, information technology and computer science. The Information Technology course embraces knowledge and expertise as well as shaping practical skills in the area of computer programmes and systems. The programme of Information Technology is designed so that students can gain skills in the field of construction and operation of the components of information systems according to market requirements, the administration of a medium-sized systems, the creation and management of web services and the management of information technology projects. Classes of Information Technology are carried out according to the teaching programme that has been prepared in close cooperation with leading IT companies. It should be emphasized that all classes are taught by professionals with extensive practical experience and based on the illustrative methods of lecture and laboratory classes using modern hardware and software. Laboratory classes are held in small groups. During the classes in the computer labs, each student has at its disposal a separate computer. Students in their 2nd and 3rd year of studies use a lab equipped with the latest specialized computers tailored to the subject of their thesis.

Career prospects
A graduate of Information Technology course has been provided with the skills of effective independent work and team work in the field of web services, graphic designs in advertising agencies and companies. The graduate will have learnt to create applications necessary for further work, designing computer networks, programming, systems administration, and IT project management. The young computer engineer will be employed not only in specialized companies engaged in the generation, protection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, but also in the various sectors of the economy – industry, business, government, IT services, as well as research and educational institutions. The graduate may find employment as a designer and software developer, a researcher, an administrator of complex information systems and computer networks, a specialist in information systems security or might take on other positions related to the computerization of business or office.
The course of Information Technology conducted at Radom Academy of Economics has been positively assessed by the Polish Accreditation Committee, the only body that is entitled to assess the quality of provided education – Resolution no 36/2008 PPKA of 31 January 2008.
